History Calling for Patriots

If the Patriots defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX, they'll win their third title in four years and immediately draw comparisons with the great NFL teams. The Cowboys made it three in four years, after the 1992-93 and '95 seasons. The Pittsburgh Steelers won four in six seasons (1974-75, 1978-79) or look at the 49ers with five Super Bowl wins from 1981-94.How do the Patriots stack up against these dynasties bearing in mind the free agency and salary cap era...
"I don't think anyone would question that you put them (Patriots) right there with the best ever", says Terry Bradshaw, Pittsburgh's quarterback in those four Super Bowl victories. Click on the title link to bet on Super Bowl XXXIX.

Brady Work Ethic Second to None

As a rookie, Tom Brady befriended the night watchman at Foxboro Stadium so that he could use the training facilities when no one was there. Nothing has changed since the Patriots' move to Gillette Stadium - he continues to be one of the first players to arrive and last to leave.
"Tom works hard. He's one of our very best workers all year round, during the season and the offseason," said coach Belichick. "His preparation is exceptional."

NFL The Greatest League in the World?

Commentary on a recent NFL playoff game by a respected figure included the statement that the NFL was "the greatest league in the world..." ok so many of us like to think America "is the world" but we were actually discovered more recently than many countries, so it stands to reason that there are other leagues in other countries, in other sports...perhaps with more impressive pedigrees. Lets compare the Playoffs and Super Bowl to a competition in the United Kingdom - the FA Cup - a soccer competition that dates back to 1871 and included 661 teams last year...from Manchester Utd to teams such as Tiptree Utd...just a few more teams than in your average Superbowl competition...commentators say the dumbest things I guess.
